I use Automatic Update. I was notified about SP3 and installed it
without any problems. My daughter's machine is the same
configuration as mine (except she has not installed IE7 yet) but
she hasn't received any notice about SP3. For what it's worth, the
Microsoft Update website "knows" that she uses Automatic Update. Executing
the check for latest updates just loops. Any comments?
Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
