....well, for me at least.
After reading through:-

....and all the talk about PSU's and ACPI versions ...

I took a peek into my main PC's bios ACPI screen and enabled STR (suspend to
RAM) function | rebooted | hibernated | hit [Esc] | ..hey Presto ! no "hang"
after the big "resume form hibernation" progress bar completes. ...(that's
my Intel PC).

....same on the PC to my left (AMD), enabled STR in ACPI bios screen | that
one also now does not hang on "resume from hibernation."

I'd always guessed that the STR (suspend to RAM) was something to do with
bios based power saving settings, and that this bios option was nothing to
do with Windows hibernation. Considering that hibernation always previously
worked in my PC's with STR bios option disabled on all of them, I'm not sure
what it's all about - ...and I don't feel up to wading through ACPI spec's !

....So ! was SP3 to blame, has something to do with ACPI in SP3 changed ?
....or was corrected ? ...or improved ?

....anyhooo, enabling "STR" bios option did it for me :-)

A couple of days ago my 2nd PC, after "resume from hibernation" just sat at
the black screen - the one with "Press F8 to delete restoration data",
(after the long progress bar had travelled from left to right at the
bottom of the screen), and I had to hold the power button in and force it
to switch off.
Same thing now on my main PC today !

...so it looks to me like hibernation is now, no longer working properly
after SP3 :-) ...or should that be :-(

...I wonder if there'll be a patch soon, to fix what was not broken, and
got broken with SP3 ?
