You didn't notice the warning when installing Windows in that manner that it
could cause problems? So the answer is YES!

My PC has been taking an extreme amount of time to boot, so last night I
reinstalled windows xp Home SP1. For the install, I used the option of
installing a fresh copy over the existing copy without reformating the
disc
partition. I then went to install Office xp standard for students and
teachers version 2002 and the disk will not load. I copied the contents of
the disc onto my hard drive and attempted to run from there, the info
copied
fine but it still would not execute the set-up program.
It looks like a copy of the office programs are still on my C drive in the
program files folder, but when I click on the app, the computer crashes.
Help Please. I have now wasted about 15 hours on this nonsense.
Should I reformat the HD and start from scratch?
Finally, it appears that the computer is running about 50% slower than
normal.
