Re: installing iis on xp pro sp 2

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Place your WinXP Pro setup CD in the CDROM drive while you're logged on run
setup.exe. From the menu choices select the third one down "Install optional
Windows components". Select IIS from the list and follow the prompts.

You can also accomplish the same end by following the procedure outlined in "How
to Install a Program from a CD-ROM or Floppy Disk" contained in this article:

How To Add Components and Programs to a Computer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/305548

If IIS still doesn't show up in the list, you'll have to tell us a lot more
about your computer.

Be sure that you're logging on to the computer as either an administrator or
a
member of the Administrators group using Windows XP Pro (IIS is not available
on
the Home version).
