Re: Get back to open account after hibernation?

Probably not many users get into this situation, but I share a laptop that has
XPHome, and have it set not to show my account on the log in screen.

To log on therefore I ctrl alt del twice and enter my details.
All well and good, but, if for some reason I am distracted and the laptop goes
to sleep I can't get back to my account, as the welcome screen comes up as it
comes out of hibernation and ctrl alt del does nothing.

Is there something I can type in the 'run' box of another account to get back
to my own ac, whilst still having the welcome screen for the other users?
Or is there another way of opening the log in dialogue after hibernation?

Not usually a terrible nuisance but I lost an email I was working on this time
around when I had to shut down my account from process explorer in another.

Cheers

Maybe I'm missing something in your question. If you log on to one of the other
accounts after the computer comes out of hibernation, you should be able to log
off from that account and then hit Ctrl + Alt + Del twice to get the Logon to
Windows dialog.

To test this, here's what I did on my test system.

Control Panel -> Power Options -> Advanced tab -> Prompt for password when
computer resumes from standby checked. Having this enabled will insure that the
Welcome screen is displayed when the computer comes out of hibernation.
Created two new accounts, TestAdmin and TestLimited. Both accounts are password
protected.
Logged on to both accounts once and then logged on to TestAdmin.
Launched TweakUI and in the Logon branch unchecked "Show TestAdmin on the
Welcome Screen".
Opened several applications, Outlook, IE, Windows Media Player, and a couple of
folders.
Start -> Turn off computer and selected Hibernate.
Waited a few minutes and restarted computer.
System booted to the Welcome screen.
As expected, TestAdmin was not listed with the other users.
Hitting Ctrl + Alt + Del twice did not bring up the Logon to Windows dialog.
Logged on to TestLimited account.
Logged off TestLimited and was taken back to the Welcome screen.
Hit Ctrl + Alt + Del twice which now brought up the Logon to Windows dialog.
Logged on to TestAdmin account and found that all of the windows that I'd opened
earlier were still there.

Good luck
