That will make the problem worse.
The OP called it a *slow* double click, which is a misnomer. The
feature is a *second* click, not a double click. If the folder is
already selected, a second click will open up the name for editing.
What the OP wants is a setting that disables name editing using left
click. It is already disabled in the folder panel. There you need to
right-click and select rename. I think the OP wants that behavior in
the contents (right) panel as well. That would be a useful feature.

I teach beginners and they are not very quick at the double click to start
with and folders keep getting renamed and dragged to other folders.
