Folder opens on start up

On two different computers, when I start WinXPSP2, Windows Explorer opens a
folder on the main drive. It's not the same folder on the different units.
This didn't begin to happen until the most recent set of updates. How can I
stop this? WinXP is already slower than Win98 on boot, and opening these
folders doesn't help matters.
