I've found that most backup software that is designed to write to RW or R's, will also handle changing CDs. I use an older copy of what was Seagate backup program, later changed to Stomp backup, and goodness knows what it is now. I think nero will even do this.
I've got a ton of CDRW's downstairs that I used to use for this, but an external drive for 60$ is sooooooooo much easier. And flipping CD's is no fun. Think about it. Especially when XP came into this mix and terabyte drives came around. I use one or two CDRW's now for testing ISO images. (sorry, not into virtual drives yet).

There are other ways to do this, and I'm just tossing out ideas since you gave little reason for it. Winrar will rar files and split them into a specified size, like 650Megs. Then you can burn each file then to a single CD. Its not fancy, but it works in a pinch.
