I have tried to find an answer to this question since early Dec.
My laptop (XP) takes forever to shut down.....not the typical shut
down problem....
When i click start, and then click turn off computer.....it can take
anywhere from 5 to 10 min. before the choices of how u want to shut
down appears on the screen........and then it takes quite awhile
after you click on shut down...
But, if i unplug my laptop, so it is battery powered, it is
instantaneous......and a little time to shut down after clicking on
the shut down button......
why is this......I know this is a big hint as to what the problem is,
but i don't understand it, and can't think of any reason....
please help
thanx,
k
