Win XP HP LaserJet 4 printer driver ??

I've been using a HP LaserJet 4 printer for about three years on this XP PC. The driver is the one that came with XP. About a month ago I lost a feature that was very useful for me and I can't get it back.
To print, I go to File then Print and a small window pops up to let me select the pages I want and then in the lower left hand corner there's subwindow Print Frame that allowed me to select a bullet for
As laid out on the screen
The selected frame
Each frame separately
The Print Frame subwindow is now grayed out and I can't select one of the three bullets. I've removed and reloaded the print driver but no luck.
I'm curious as to what might have happened and how I solve the problem? If this is not the place to ask can someone please point me.
Thanks
