It could be an attempt by Outlook to reply in the format of the

might be an HTML message. The machine in question may be
setup to use a non-Word editor for HTML code.

I have a user that is using Outlook and connecting to an Exchange
server. Every once in a while, the user gets an error when trying to
REPLY to a message regarding using Word as their email editor. It
states that Word is not installed or is an incorrect version.
Then I recheck the Use Word as Editor checkbox in Tools->Options->Mail
Format. This then works with new messages, but again the error pops
up and Word is turned off as the mail editor again on REPLIES ONLY.
And on any reply (not a specific message). Closing Outlook and any
related Office program does not solve the issue. After a reboot, it
is fixed - for a while.
Any thoughts on what could be going on and how to correct it? This
happens once or twice a week now for three weeks.
Thanks.
Kevin
Yeah, i was hoping it was that but it occurs on every single message,
including plain text emails from my smartphone.
I was hoping to avoid a reinstall but that appears to be the way to
go.
Thanks to everyone for your help.
