The Stop Error Report is suggesting that the problem is with ftdisk.sys.
This is a Microsoft driver on the Windows XP CD.

Have you used a genuine Windows XP CD or a recovery CD intended for a
specific machine?

Hope this helps.

I reformatted my hdd and got valiodated/updated etc. After the
installation, I downloaded the driver forthe audiomedia controller
from hp web site for my presario. When I put backs its soriginal
keyboard and mouse (both usb) there was a hike of usb devices
installations. Subsequently reboot I get this message. Now when I use
back the non-descript kb/mouse, I am also getting this message. What
is wrong with my installation. Cos when I did the reformatting I did
not use the hp recovery cd as I havelose it. Any ideas as how can I
resolved this issue. Thank You.
