Re: Getting rid of "Found new hardware"

If you let the wizard run to the end, it may then sa that the drivers could
not be found and have not been installed. There is then either a tickbox or
a button to never notify again. Use that and you shouldn't be bothered
again.

Also, look in the Device Manager for yellow exclamation marks. They indicate
that there is a problem with an item.

Go to Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance, System, Hardware Tab and
Device Manager Button.

A few weeks ago, my computer started showing a message "Found new
ardware - Image", although I had not installed any new hardware, and then
started the "Found new hardware wizard". Cancelling it gives a
reproachful
message that your new hardware may not work. I have tried letting the
wizard runs but after a while it reports that it cannot find what it is
looking for.

From the name "Image", I thought it might be relate to my Brother MFC
640CW,
which has a scan function, but the software was installed months ago and I
have used the Scan function occasionally with no problem.

I have now got in the habit of cancelling the wizard after every start-up
but is there any way of getting rid of the message ?
