Up front...I goofed and now I need some help.
The ICON that depicts two computers that resides next to the time is
where my problem started. I though that I could right click this
ICON and click Disable to close down my connection to the Internet.
I wanted to do this while I was backing up some folders/files
having to do with my Internet connection. Well clicking Disable
did close down my Internet connection. Now, however, I do not have
the ICON to right click to restore my connection to the Internet. Can
anybody direct me to my lost ICON and the Internet again? I am
presently using my 98SE machine to access the Internet.
Any help would be appreciated.

You did not mess up - you just don't know where to go.
You need a way that will work no matter how your desktop/start menu is
setup - so here it is:
Start button --> RUN --> Type in:
control ncpa.cpl
--> Click OK.
That should load up a window with the list of network connections on your
computer so you can right-click on them and enable/disable them as desired.
