Re: Monitor Does Not Turn ON After Restart/Reboot

I know of one case where this problem was corrected by updating the video
driver card from the manufacturers site.
Check to see if you have latest driver.

This particular computer requires the Power button to be pressed to exit
hibernate. However, even if I do a hard shut down (kill the power), then
restart, the situation below occurs.

I've tried other options, such as the ESC and moving the mouse.
Disconnecting power for more than 24 hours, etc...

What method are you using to exit hibernate mode? Reason for asking is
that
many confuse hibernate with standby.

I have a desktop running Windows XP Home edition. For some reason after
the
computer went into Hibernate mode, and the monitor powered down, the
monitor
will no longer come back on. It will not come on if I turn it on or
off,
wiggle the mouse etc...

When I restart the system, I get the initial boot screen and the
Microsoft
XP splash screen, then it immediately goes dark and powers down. Yet
the
system continues to ramp up. I've tried switching monitors, and had the
same
results. So there's something in Windows telling the monitors to stay
in
Hibernate and I have no idea how to fix this.

This is my daughter's (5) computer and I would appreciate any help.
