Okay - but I don't see the problem with the statement given, even with your additions. ;-) Microsoft may well have said it was the most important release since Windows 95. I recall being at one of the release evens - and strangely - although Windows 95/98 and even Windows 2000 was mentioned and showed side-by-side with Windows XP... Windows ME was hardly mentioned... In fact - I remember more mentions of XBOX than Windows ME.
Microsoft probably say this for every new MS. However, WinME
is commonly regarded as a minor upgrade and also as a lame duck.
I suspect that Microsoft would prefer to forget it.

Windows XP *is* built Windows NT kernel and architecture... Which is also what Windows 2000 is built on.
Agreed, but the OP suggested that Windows ME was built on
Windows 2000, which is clearly not the case.
I think that the OP deliberately crafted his post to try to confuse and muddle things. He almost completely ignores, or is almost completely ignorant of the NT lineage and he tries to present XP as a completely new operating system, which of course it wasn't.
