I realize that, but why does windows even bother to alert me, if there is no
suggestion what step to take. These type of things really keep tech support
in business.

I fixed the problem by just going to msconfig and not allowing any of the
logitech functions to load at startup. This works, so I may just delete the
logitech setpoint all together. It seems to cause other problems also (brings
up exploits). I've used logitech products for years without problems, but
this 3200 laser keyboard and mouse is not up to par, and also eats batteries.

if you think that this is an annoyance of Windows then you should
delete Windows and retain LogitechMessenger. If you think that
this is an annoyance of LogitechMessenger then you should delete
LogitechMessenger and retain Windows.

Seriously: Removing LogitechMessenger and perhaps reinstalling
it seems your best course of action. You should also check the
FAQs of LogitechMessenger, and perhaps google for Logitech
plus your specific error message. It is unlikely that it has anything
to do with Windows itself.
