Ahh, the annoyances of Windows. On starting XP home, I get an error
message
that gives no hint of what to do. I have reloaded Logitech without
success.
Runner file name
(LogitechDesktopMessenger.exe) lacks a '-' (the app id separator)
So how do I fix it? I'm about to delete the Logitech desktop entirely if
this keeps happening!! If I click OK, it goes away until the next time I
startup.

You write "Ahh, the annoyances of Windows." It now depends:
if you think that this is an annoyance of Windows then you should
delete Windows and retain LogitechMessenger. If you think that
this is an annoyance of LogitechMessenger then you should delete
LogitechMessenger and retain Windows.
Seriously: Removing LogitechMessenger and perhaps reinstalling
it seems your best course of action. You should also check the
FAQs of LogitechMessenger, and perhaps google for Logitech
plus your specific error message. It is unlikely that it has anything
to do with Windows itself.
