Nope that will NOT work unless the hardware on your machine is identical
(or very close) to what it is on the other machine.

Besides...If XP won't install you need to get to the root of the issue

Pretty confident the PC IS ok - relatively new. (under 12Mth)
hardware also - should be fairly close - hers be a little newer and
higher spec'd.
Was initially corrupted by virus, though I don't have details.
Not sure what caused the XP reinstall to fail - suspecting just not
all steps followed
correctly.
Aaah well... maybe it wouldn't be a quick solution after all - would
love to give it a try and 'see what takes place! ~ sure can't make it
amy worse than it is now, but really I'd prefer to be there to See it!
(and be able to see what might need amending!)
