Pinnacle software is sluggish, try "watchhdtv" at
http://watchhdtv.net/program.aspx it lets you watch and record HDTV. FWI
it's a little hard to set up but runs much more smoothly than Pinnacle
software.

I have installed "Instant DVD Recorder" software from Pinnacle. When I
start
the software I see the buttons, check boxes, etc and they seem to
function
when I click on them but there are no captions (labels) on the screen
for
them. I have installed the latest and greatest supposedly for XP, even
in
the
safe mode. The technical support for Pinnacle has not been helpful. I
think
this is a problem with my desktop though, because the same software on
my
laptop with XP pro sp2(same as desktop) works ok.
