Yes, but it's not the update that restarts the system. It's Automatic
Updates.

Frankly, if that is the source of your worst fears, your life is in
excellent shape.

This is a feature of Automatic Updates.

When Automatic Updates is enabled in Automatic mode, if an update needs a
restart, AU will notify you and then restart the system.

If you don't want this update (at the moment it sounds like you don't
actually know what it is, though), go to the Windows Update site and figure
out which one was installed most recently.

If you want to prevent this, go to Control Panel, Automatic Updates, and
take AU out of Automatic mode.
