When the electricity goes out for a few seconds my computer automatically
starts up again when power is restored....I don't want this....when the power
goes out I want my computer to stay off until I turn it back on again because
sometimes the power goes off and on several times in just a few seconds and I
don't want my computer to do the same!....how do I make it so that when the
power goes off initially, my computer stays off until I push the
button?....my old computer with 98 stayed off in this situation.
P.S. Automatic Restart in Start and Recovery is NOT checked so that's
evidently not what controls what I'm after.
The setting is in BIOS, not the operating system. Read the motherboard manual. If you do not have a hard copy, go to the manufacturer web site and download it from there.
