Re: Windows installer problem

I have tried the kb, but there are no entries listed. I have uninstalled,
reinstalled, redownloaded and still no entries.

I have the same basic problem, but I have not lost access to Office 2003,
but I cannot repair, change features, or install SP3. I get the package
error. I have reinstalled Windows Installer as well.

The Office 2003 SP3 aborts prematurely, and here is the info from the
install log:

-d"C:\DOCUME~1\THEFER~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\OHotfix\DW18B.tmp"

When I go to add/remove, change, I get the message to veirfy that the
package exists. If I run setup from the CD I get "files being copied",
Windows Installer, then "This patch package could not be opened.
Verify.....is a valid Windows Installer patch package."

Help would be appreciated.

All started when I did a restore point and windows installer box which
never
dose normally which said
"This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patach package
exists and that you can access it or contact the application vendor or
verify
that this is a valid windows installer patch package"

I have lost access to Office 2003. Tried to delete office and reinstall
but
this message above comes up. I have deleted and reinstalled windows
installer 3.1. Still no change. Can anyone help please?
