I am updating my brother into the 21st century and setting him with

currently use Zone Alarm Pro 7.0.462 and have had absolutely no
problem whatsoever. I have been reading, however, that Zone Alarm
Internet Suite 2007 is causing all kinds of problems and the BSOD.
I was wondering if this is limited to ZA Internet Suite or does it
also include the new version of ZA Pro? Any help is appreciated.

How good is your brother with computers?

If mediocre - I believe your best setup for him (and your sanity) is merely
a Cable/DSL Modem router (configured so you can get to his computer if need
be and remotely manage said router) and the built-in Windows Firewall with a
decent AntiVirus software with automatic updating features. This will give
your brother more than adequate protection without all the overhead they may
not be into keeping up with properly and eliminate your question completely.

If more than adequate in the 'knowledge of computers' part - let them choose
what they want so they will know they will be responsible for the upkeep.

How To Ask Questions The Smart Wayhttp://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

Actually niether of us are really good with computers but he
definately doesn't know anything. I'm concerned if I set up a router
he will somehow break it and I will be stuck. He lives too far away
to make trips every weekend to repair his computer. Everything I read
says that Zone Alarm Suite is bad bad bad. I just can't tell if it's
Windows Vista related or if it includes Win XP. We both run Win XP
Pro so if it will run well with that platform we're good. Otherwise
I'll have to look into some other protection.
