If you do want to display the inbuilt Adminisrator account on Welcome
Screen
then here is the utility which can help you:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_admin_ok.htm
I will advise you to first run this utility so if you create a new
administrator account then the default will still remain on Welcome
screen.
Later, you can turn it off using the same one.
If you do not wish to create another administrator account then follow
this:
(However, I have not tried it yet but you can let me know if it works).
1. Run the above utitlity and make a check mark on "Enable Admin Account
on
Welcome Screen."
2. Once Log Off and Log In again.
3. Now, try to create a new user account and see if the Limited option is
available.

I sent all my docs to C:\My Documents2
installed Doug Knox's utility
ran the utility
exited
Shut down the computer.

Booted
No welcome screen
tried to create a limited user account
refused with advice to have to create another administrator account

FYI Rajkohli,

will try stage 2 of your advice.
Rod.

BTW: you are correct, when I loaded winXPsp2,
I did not have a suitable display driver, and had to
download one from the web,
Hence your suggestion rings true. Rod.

If not, then you have no choice but to create an another admin account.

Hope this help, let us know!

I nav to start / control panel / user accounts
it shows I have administrator, and guest which is "off",
when I go to create a limited user account,
the box advises I should open an admin account first,
don't I already have one?

Advice on steps to progress please.
