Yes. The modem works fine from that viewpoint.
If it was the modem, why is it only being kicked off the net by this one
specific computer? None of the others do it.
I have swapped cables, swapped ports (it has a built in 4 port switch), checked
and double checked hardware settings in ALL computers to ensure that they are
identical. Ditto for network config settings.
My more permanent solution was just to get another router from another
company as Netgear "support" is non-effective like many companies & want
payment to help fix problems created by the company.
That too is an option, but as the modem is ISP supplied I'd have to convince
them that the modem is faulty. They'll naturally say that it's at my end. I'm
reluctant to buy another modem if mine isn't faulty, or if it is, I cannot prove
it to effect a warranty replacement.
