Yes, of course. However, if Thee Chicago Wolf's primary
aim had been to assist the OP then he would have quoted
this KB article number immediately. This is not the way it
happened: he first took a shot at me as an MVP (which I
can take), and only in his later reply did he come to the OP's
rescue.

I am sometimes faced with problems that I have never
encountered before. In these situations I weigh up the
time it might take to fix the problem, the likelyhood of
success and the time it would take to rebuild or reload
from an image. I often restore a recent backup copy of
the registry, which has saved me countless hours in the past.
If no image or backup is available then a reload is in many
cases a very effective way to fix a problem.

In his post the OP used some "cute" language ("any idea
as to wuts goin on") which suggests that he was just
dabbling with his server. If you gauge my initial response
as "flippant" then I'd say that it matches the OP's post.

I originally posted the KB article on 10/20/2007 @ 6:55AM CST.

It never appeared on my newsreader (which is not the first
time this has happened). If I had seen it then I would not have
asked you for it. If this is the case the first para of my reply
to WaIIy is obviously completely wrong and I apologise for
the conclusions I drew in it.
