Re: Control Panel

There is a Sub-Key named "Don't Load" located under the Key name
Control Panel at \HKey\Current_User\Control Panel\
You have to know the CPL name for Tiny Firewall and add it to the
table if it's not already in the listing.

From your description it sounds like the program is not fully removed
from your system. If you still have the installer, I would re-install it to
it's original location and then re-try the uninstaller. You might also see
if a stand-alone uninstaller or removal tool is available for the program.

Before making any Registry changes I'd take a System Image of your
XP if you have that capability.

Thank you very much. However, Tweakui does not seem to help.

I had a program (Tiny persobal Firewall) which I uninstalled some time
ago. However, the entry is still in the Add/Remove programs and no matter
how many times I press the button Add/Remove, nothiong happens and the
entry is still there even if the program no longer exists.

I did not see anything in TweakUi /ControlPanel that allowed me to get rid
of it. None of the entries mention 'Tiny'.

Can I get rid of it through regedit?

Thank you again for your help.

Tweak-UI, a powertoy for XP has the capability to mask out certain
Control Panel applets. Also, you can do a full system search for .Cpl
modules and simply delete the .CPL that you want to remove. Just be
sure to remove the correct module.

Direct download of Tweak-UI:
