Re: New Error message appearing "MOM.EXE - .NET Framework Initiali

Hello Ralf

I got a reply and followed graphics support (email) instructions and that
was the page that you quoted too:-

http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=xp/integrated-xp

I did the first download link CATALYST SOFTWARE SUITE and followed the
instructions and it downloaded with Steam and Earthsim. I rebooted and the
error came back.

I have since called a UK support number and he is supposed to be calling
back once he's looked into this .

I didn't know how to do/or that I had to do a clean driver installation and
I've checked the box with discs that came with this computer and can't find
any driver/ati discs.

A clean driver installation using the correct driver for the Express 200 chipset is important, so use the ATI
software removal utility to uninstall the currently installed drivers.

I've just looked at add/remove programmes and can see the uninstall so
should I do this now and then go back and do the above from the link?

The driver you need to download for your ATI chipset is different than the
one I would need for mine, even though the Catalyst version number is 7.10
for both. That's because the Xpress 200 is an integrated graphics chipset
which also includes the graphics subsystem hardware on the motherboard. You
should note that there is an Xpress 200 chipset and also an Xpress 200M
chipset. Also get the appropriate driver for your version of XP.

Assuming that your computer is running 32bit XP Home or Pro, the name of
your downloaded driver file should begin with "7-10-igp_xp32". That is the
one that includes support for the integrated graphics chipset. If you
already have a driver file that begins with "7-10_xp32" it is the wrong
driver (incomplete) for your system."

I've just looked in the c: programme files to see what is in the ATI Support
folder and it lists the following:-

6-11-pre-r300_xp-2k_dd_ccc_wdm_38185
7-11_xp32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_53250
7-10-igp_xp32_dd_ccc_wdm_sb_gart_enu_53250 (this is the one I downloaded)
hotfix_8.413.2_xp_32-64_53786

For other versions of XP use this page to find the correct driver (always
pick Integrated/Motherboard in the second column):

http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

I have looked at this page and this is where I found the download (didn't
download until I got the graphics support email telling me too)

I've just had another email from graphics support which proves they aren't
reading the emails and keep sending me the link
http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=xp/integrated-xp which I've
told them I've done and it hasn't sorted out the error.

Any ideas of what to do next would be appreciated and in the meantime I'm
going to chase up the person I spoke to in the UK since it's been a few hours
now.

I appreciate all the help both you and db have given me.
