HP seems to be almost ignoring the issue when it comes to their software and
incompatibilities with .net 3.0. I had a prob where Director would open, but
no info was available on the pages (web page could not be found). If you
don't need the additions that .net 3.0 provides, simply turn it off in Vista
(Control panel, programs and features, turn windows features on and off),
therefore using .net 2.0 essentially, or uninstall it in 2000 or XP. I'm sure
many of you will find this a very easy solution to an extremely vexing
problem!

Thank you. I am using HP's drivers. I downloaded the most current versions.
from their website, but they still do not work.

After performing the most recent round of Patches, the PCL print drivers (5E
and 6) for the HP LaserJet 4300 stopped working properly. When I try to
print multiple pages, it appears to print the first two on top of each other
and then stop. I can print properly with the PostScript drivers, but I have
an application that requires PCL so I would like to get it working.
Unless the patches came from HP, delete them and re-install the printer
using the driver files from the cdrom that came with it. The danger of
installing patches from other than the original manufacturer is that of
not having any assurances of their performance. Sometimes, hardware patches
from the Microsoft update site might even be beta versions of developmental
changes to existing drivers.
