Re: NTLDR is Missing.....

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

I had the same experience earlier. I spent a couple of hours with someone
from India at Dell support, who finally threw up his hands and asked me to
reformat and reload. Instead, I called a local computer shop. He asked me
if I had a floppy in the floppy drive. I looked and presto - I had left one
there. Removing it resulted in a normal bootup. The local tech observed
that "everyone knows that" Apparently NTLDR is the Windows NT loader which
is the bootup program. In a default computer, WinXP first looks on the
floppy drive. If that drive is empty, it goes to the C: hard drive. But if
there's a disk in the floppy drive, WinXP searches for the NTLDR program,
fails to find it and produces the NTLDR Missing message.

Hi guys,
I've made a big mistake while 'spring cleaning' and moved the NTDETECT
file,
now I get a black screen with...

NTLDR is Missing
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to Restart

Of course when I do that I get the same message. What a dope!!
I don't deserve any sympathy but any kind advice on how to fix this
would be
greatly appreciated.
TIA
