I've put in my CD, and I've restarted my computer several times, but I
never
get prompted to install the CD. The problem I have right now is that my
computer operates normally until after I log in(yes, I am the
administrator).
It will even bring me up to my desktop, but the problem is there are no
programs running, no icons to click, not even the bar on the bottom. The
windows key on the keyboard doesn't do anything, but I can bring up the
end
task manager. However, again, I can't use the task manager to run a new
task
such as opening the XP CD-ROM. Can anyone help me? I would like to do a
complete re-install and remove everything from my computer.

you need to set the bios to boot first from cdrom
