User Profiles "Copy To" option greyed out.


On a new Dell Lattitude 630 running Windows XP sp2, I want to create a customized default user profile. But the "Copy To" button remains greyed out on all the user profiles I create.

I followed the KB 319974, by:

1. Logging in as local admin
2. Creating another local user (also an admin)
3. Logging in as that user and applying changes
4. Logging in as administrator again and going to the user profiles page to copy to default.

Stopper: The Copy To: button is greyed out. *

This used to be simple, I recall, when XP first came out, but more and more I seem to have to play a lot of games to come up with a profile that Windows deems acceptable to be copied to the default. It's almost as if they keep trying to make it hard and harder to do this.

Does anyone know a sure-fire method to do get this done succesfully? I need a default user profile, and I'm sure wasting a lot of time because I have no idea what Windows is objecting to about this profile.

* P.S. Am I the only one who finds all this automatic greying of buttons without any inkling of _why_ the action is unavailable a maddening productivity horse collar?
I mean how the heck hard would it be to pop up a window telling the user "CoolAction not available in BoZo mode. Switch to CoolGuy mode to perform CoolAction." Something tells me it couldn't be that hard.
