Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

I had a similar problem after Windows Update installed Digital Media for
Media Player 10. I could use DLA until ejecting the disk crashing my PC with
the blue screen. Now I am forced to go to the drives Property and
temporarily disable DLA.

Hi folks,

I installed a new Pioneer DVD writer tonight (model DVR-1810). With
the previous DVD writer which went belly-up after 5 years, I was using
the SONIC line of software (DLA, RecordNow, etc).

Anyhow, after dragging and dropping a few files with the new writer
onto a DVD-R within Windows Explorer, I went to "Make Compatible" by
right clicking on the DVD drive. While that was running, the system
quit and the following blue screen came up. I also tried dragging and
dropping with a CD-R, and the same problem occurred. Any advice would
be appreciated.

Thanks,

DG

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent
damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart
the computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to be sure you have adequate disc space. If a driver is
identified in the Stop message, disable the driver or check with the
manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adapters.

Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS
memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe
Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8
to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.
