If HP is still loading, you need to find out where it is loading from. Check the startup folder on the start menu and if you find an HP shortcut to what you want to turn off, delete it. If you do not find anything, then look for an HP entry in these registry run keys:


I did a search and located the start menu folder. I looked down the
folder tree under 3 separate folders in docs and settings with my
name, admin and all users and I still cannot find the entry I want.

It's probably starting and running as a service. Look in the the Services Management Console for it.
