logon problem

Hi, I have an XP pro machine and am having problems with logging on.
When I try to start the machine up I get the Log On to Windows screen with
Administrator in the username and a password already filled in. On top of
that is another popup message (Logon Message) 'The system could not log you
on. Make sure your username and domain are correct, then type your password
again........ 'With an OK button. I click OK and the password disappears and
the computer logs on as administrator without the use of a password as I
have removed them all. This happens everytime I log on. Is there anyway that
I can get the computer to log on normally again? I have tried to change the
logon to fast logon but the computer just stalls on the startup window with
the windows logo in the middle.
I only need to logon to the computer, it is not part of a domain and never
has been.
Cheers
Lenny
