Try clicking Start, Run and entering DEVMGMT.MSC
Device Manager in XP is a Microsoft Management Console snap-in.

I tried to open my Device Manager today using the following :
Right Click MY COMPUTER / Properties / Hardware / Device Manager . When I do
this I get the following window message : " Navigation to webpage cancelled "
and then it suggests I try REFRESH . When I try REFRESH I get the following
windows message : " This program cannot display the webpage .
"
I have tried running " chkdsk " and all is well . I have also tried running "
sfc / scannow " with my windows CD installed and all was well also .
I am running Windows XP home Edition SP2 / Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop / IE 7 /
DSL wireless connection .
Everything else seems to be running normally except for this concern .
Thanks for your help
