I know it's unreliable, but it's perhaps worth a try. Back up
first in case a Restore renders the system unbootable.
Alternatively, you can see which Windows Updates were
recently installed and uninstall them one at a time, checking
to see if your problem is resolved.

Thanks for the speedy reply - do you mean by using the 'restore' option,put
because to be frank I've never had any success with that - it's always failed
to work properly.

Recently my laptop refuses to go into standby mode. If I close the lid to
preventingit into standby I get a message that says "Print Spooler Server is
again"machine entering standby mode. Please close print Spooler.exe and try
fileIf I look at all running services, it's true the print spool server exe
computeris still showin as using 50% resources, if i close that service the
anyonewill enter standby mode as asked, but that is pretty inconvenient. Can
antell me why this has suddenly happened (laptop is about 10 months old) is
theAcer Aspire 5630 and I'm using XP Windows media edition which came with
donelaptop. Everything else is okay. All actual printing on this computer is
via home wireless network.
