If you believe the warning is accurate (no OS disk, no EULA, no sticker on
the PC with a product key), then your best bet is to buy a legitimate copy
on EBay or from some other source.

I bought my mother an old pc at a computer fair for wordprocessing and
internet browsing. Of course, now we keep getting the message saying
that the version of xp is a copy and so this means we can't get
windows updates. Is there a way of getting rid of the windows warning?
Is there an alternative site for updates (she's still on IE6!)?
