I am in the process of rebuilding two Dell PCs with XP. The restore disks
are SP1, and updating takes forever. Machine number one is complete.
Machine number two is identical in every detail. Is there any reason that I
should not image the drive on machine one and restore it to machine two
(realizing that I have to then change the machine name on machine two?)
Both machines are fully licensed.

Yes, there is a good reason: You can have only one machine
with a specific product code (assuming that you have a Retail
Licence), not two.
