Re: CD Rom drive shows contents of previous CD

Kelly,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I forgot to mention in my original post that Refresh (F5) doesn't make
any difference - you still get the contents of the previous CD.

Even populating the volume information doesn't show the correct
contents either.

I'll have a look at the colour depth and refresh rate (as mentioned in
one of the links provided) - can anyone think of anything further?

Thanks,

Dunnpy

Just an old bug..... :o(

Suggestions:

Open My Computer, right click on the CD Rom in question,
Properties/Hardware/Properties/Volumes/Populate.

Other than that, this problem can occur if you are using Folder view in
Windows Explorer. The view may not be automatically refreshed in Folder view
in Windows Explorer.

To work around this problem, use either of the following methods:

Manually refresh Windows Explorer by pressing F5 or by clicking Refresh on
the View menu in Windows Explorer. And/or Do not use Folder view in Windows
Explorer.

Guys,

I wonder if anyone can assist with this:

XP with 2 DVD/Writer drives.

Insert a CD into drive, open contents - OK
Remove CD, My Computer recognises the CD has been removed and returns
the icon to normal
Insert a different CD and open - contents from the previous CD are
displayed.

This occurs on both drives in the system.

I've tried:

Microsoft Autorun fix - No fix
Removed drives and IDE controllers and let Windows redetect - no fix
Checked BIOS settings and restored defaults - no fix

The system isn't running anything unusual, I've even disabled all but
the necessary (Windows) items from running - no fix

Safe Mode - Everything works as expected, so it's something that
occurs only in normal mode.

Can anyone make any further suggestions - nothing hardware/software
wise has changed on the system.
I considered checking the cabling for the drives master/slave/CS or
whether they were running on their own channels, but didn't as it
works in Safe Mode and used to work I left this.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
