Mr Badour
Thanks for reply. Ok i will delete first but i have installed stuff
wrong in the D:\ , i have been installing things in program files without a
folder like i would put stuff in D:\ProgramFiles instead of
D:\PromgramFiles\ad-aware and so on. its a mess.
I just wanted to make sure that it (HDD)would work if i formatted it I
have formatted before and it didnt showup afterwards and had to do something
else , but that was a new drive.
thanks again

Yes but why are you trying to format D: drive? If you want rid of the
Windows folder on D:, delete it (you can hold down the shift key to
prevent it from going into the trash bin).

Hello
During a failed atempt at trying to do a format and install of a xp
home sp2 i somehow got a windows folder on my D:\ ( my o/s is on my C:\)
, i think it happened when after trying everything else to get my
computer to restart after setup copied to the windows installation
folders i tried to install on the D:\.
Now i want to format my D:\ , do i go to disk management (diskmgmt.msc)
and format and am good to go or does it take a expert to format D:\?
If you can help this old man out it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
larry
