I have an older computer that I added XP to (Home Edition, Version 2002,
Service Pack 2) and also have broadband internet connection. I am able to
access the internet, but I have a few programs that I have downloaded (one is
SmartMusic 10.0 for my daughter's band class) and when I try to run the
program I get an error that says "an active internet connection is required".
I have disabled the firewall but still no luck. My modem is connected to a
linksys router. Any help would greatly be appreciated!!
It may/may not be an Administrative Privileges issue, depending on the application. You may also need to either set the app as allowed and/or forward a port depending on the app.
As for SmartMusic, it requires Full Administrative access to the computer to activate. ( See the second link )
Do I have to be online to use SmartMusic?
