It sounds like the Google Desktop is *indexing* the HDD & if it is ,that
would be considered "activity",which is keeping it from becoming "idle".
I have a Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse & it does the same thing, & was
told to turn the mouse upside down when I'm away from the computer.(never
actually tried that though)
Funny though,when I changed screensavers from the "3D Windows XP" to the "My
Pictures Slideshow" ,the screensaver works without my having to do anything
like that.-Go figure.
