You probably need to use the F6 method and supply SATA or controller drivers on a floppy diskette. At the beginning of the setup routine you need to press F6 when prompted and have the drivers on a diskette. If you cannot or do not want to use a floppy then you will have to incorporate (slipstream) the drivers to the installation CD or install from a network share point.

I am having a problem getting XP Pro to install............ I format the HD, the install runs through fine, and then I get a BSOD with an error telling em remove any newly installed hard drives, or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run chkdsk/f to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.
The stop code is *** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF8A80528, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
I have tried different hard drives, different IDE cables, ran Memtest etc and still cannot get past this screen. Any ideas what is left to try? I don't have another PC with a floppy drive, so I can't get the HD manufacturers drive utility, unless I can boot it off a USB key........... at this point I am stuck, and getting fed up. Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
