Re: How to rid me of Norton

Dear friends:

I did it, and in my case, SymNRT gave me a message telling that "This
version has expired, please download the newest one" (or similar), and
refused to work. And it was just downloaded from their site!!!!!!!

Did you download and run the file named SymNRT.exe, this is the tool that
will remove most of the registry entries and files on your hard disk.
Unfortunately the more recent versions of this file do not remove all the
registry entries like the earlier versions did so their will still be a few
reg entries you most likely not be able to find and delete.

As for any remaining directories and files you may be required to reboot
before you can delete these.

Thanks to all who responded yesterday about Norton. I did a search this
morning AFTER I un-installed & still had 13 folders. Hit delete & there is
4
that says I can't delete? I did go to add\remove & take everything
Symantec\Norton out of there but now, do I really have to go to the
registry. HORRORS!!!!

Somebody posted this..............................................
Are you SURE you removed all remnants of Norton? Did you use the
super-sekret Norton removal tool? Did you scan your registry for "Norton"
and "Symantec?"

& I am just not sure what to do before I put on another, better program.
Good lesson learned here from this "die-hard" Norton user. Never again
!!!!

Thanks
