Daniel
Please post a copy of the Stop Error Report when you can.
Judging by your comment overheating may be a factor causing your
computer to misbehave. You need to check that all fans are working and
remove the dust bunnies inside the computer case.

How will that work if you cannot get to the Desktop?
Did he say he can't get to the desktop? I didn't see it.
Rereading his message, I see the word "posty." I didn't know what he
meant by that, so I ignored it originally. But perhaps he meant
something like "posting," in which case you're right, and my
suggestion can't help.
If that's the case, sorry Daniel.

I have XP pro, how do I get it to stop on a BOD during posty so I
can see what the problem is, at the moment it
is just going round and round with a quick flash of the BOD then
tries to start up again
The default of restarting on a blue screen is a terrible one, in
my view. Right-click My Computer, and choose Properties. On the
Advanced tab, click Settings under Startup and Recovery. Under
System failure, uncheck the box "Automatically restart.
