Re: 'Local Security Settings'

Let me ask it another way.

Anyone know how to change
"Network access: Sharing and security model for
local accounts' local security policy"

from 'Guest only - local users authenticate as Guest'
To another value?

Thanks

I'm receiving this error message when I try to use VS 2005 Remote Monitor
config tool.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Visual Studio Remote Debugging Monitor

---------------------------

Visual Studio Remote Debugging Monitor will not be able to debug
applications because the 'Network access: Sharing and security model for
local accounts' local security policy option is set to 'Guest only - local
users authenticate as Guest'. This can be configured with the 'Local
Security Settings' administration tool.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I go to control panel

Select "Performance and maintenance"

Then select "Administration tools"

Then select "Local Security Policy"

I then have a folder tree on the left side with the following folders.

"Account Policies"

"Local Policies"

"Public Key Policies"

"Software restriction Policies"

"IP Security Policies on Local Computer"

I've been in each folder and cannot find the policy mentioned in the error
message.

I don't know if this will solve my remote debugging problem, but it seems
to be the first step to complete.

Anyone know how I can change this security policy?

Thanks

Tony
