Don't have an external cd drive to hook up and the old HD is toast.
OK, so what exactly happens? It may be that other hardware has failed, as
well.

I had to replace the hard drive in a Toshiba Satellite A105 notebook and
can't get Windows XP to install. I tried using both the Microsoft
Windows
XP
disk as well as the recovery disk from Toshiba but they don't get any
further
than loading the initial files for set up.
Does anyone have any suggetstions?
What exactly happens? Have you tried an alternate CD drive? Also,
what
happened to the old drive - can it be cloned?
