That's what I thought you said, and it's my recollection, though I may be
wrong, that PS/2 converted to USB doesn't often work, whereas USB to PS/2 is
OK. While that may be a misconception on my part, it sticks in my brain. I
would try to at least borrow a USB keyboard to test.

Another thing that occurs to me as a vague possibility is to check to make
sure the PS/2 port isn't somehow disabled in BIOS.

You got an adapter to convert a PS/2 cable to USB? I don't think it
usually work that way. The other way, yes, but not the way you describe.
You need a keyboard that has native USB connection.

ok got a usb adapter and plugged it in a usb port, doesnt recognoze it?
keyboard still doesnt work, no keyboard listed in device manager.

Did you notice in your wisdom the OP's note, posted six hours
before your reply? It read "i think the keyboard i have(microsoft
multimedia) is ps/2, it has a round plug with pins."
